Coffee & tea drink costing
Put in what you pay for beans, milk, syrup, cups and lids, and build each drink by the gram and millilitre. See what every drink costs for here and to go, what an oat milk swap really costs on a large, and what a milk price rise does to the whole menu.

How it works
- 1 Start a drink from a latte, cappuccino, tea, matcha or bubble tea, or a blank one, and give it its menu price.
- 2 Set how much of each thing goes in: grams of coffee, millilitres of milk and syrup, and the cup, lid and sleeve.
- 3 Put in what you pay for each thing by the bag, jug, bottle or case, and how much is lost to purges and pitchers.
- 4 See the whole menu against your target, what swaps and extras really cost, and what a price rise does, then print.
Free, with no account. Everything is worked out on this page: your costs and prices are never sent to us or put in a link. Remember keeps your pantry, drinks, add-ons and target on this device, and only while it's on. A backup file lets you move them to another device.
Good to know
- What is drink cost?
- What goes in the cup as a share of the menu price before HST. A drink that costs $1.25 to make and sells for $5.00 has a 25% drink cost. The target you set is your own: a starting point, not an industry figure.
- Why for here and to go?
- A paper cup, lid and sleeve can cost more than the syrup. They only count when the drink goes out, so each drink shows both, and a typical cost counts them for the share of drinks you say leave in a cup.
- Why is a swap worked out for every drink?
- A large latte takes more oat milk than a small one for the same upcharge. The swap is costed for each drink that has the milk it replaces, so you can see whether the upcharge covers the largest.
- What about straws, stir sticks and cups?
- Canada's single-use plastics rules limit plastic straws and stir sticks, with some exceptions (verify). Some cities have their own rules or fees for cups (verify for yours). This is guidance, not financial or tax advice.
