Make-up lesson credits
Mark a missed lesson and see who's owed a make-up and by when, who gets an open slot first, and your policy in plain words.

How it works
- 1 Set the term once: the first week, how many lessons, and any weeks off. Then your missed-lesson rule: how much notice earns a make-up, how many a term, and when they run out.
- 2 Add each student with their lesson day. When a lesson is missed, tap it and say what happened. Each make-up shows as a token: owed, used, or run out.
- 3 Add the times you could teach a make-up and fill them, whoever’s make-up runs out first going first. Copy a note for each family, and print your policy and the term statement.
Free, with no account. Student and family names stay on this page: nothing is sent anywhere, and they are kept on this device only if you tick Remember.
Good to know
- What counts as a make-up?
- Whatever your rule says. A miss with enough notice earns one, up to your limit for the term. You choose whether a sick day or short notice earns one too. A no-show never does, and a lesson you cancel always does, without counting toward the limit.
- Which make-up gets used first?
- The one that runs out soonest and is still good on the day of the make-up. So a family never loses a credit because a newer one was used instead.
- Who gets an open slot first?
- Whoever’s make-up runs out first, then whoever is owed the most. A slot has to be long enough for their lesson, and it won’t clash with their own lesson time.
- What does “booked without a credit” mean?
- A make-up is booked, but there’s no credit left to use for it: none earned, or the one they had ran out first. Sometimes that’s a kindness you meant. If not, it’s worth a word with the family.
- Why write the policy down?
- Families argue less with a rule they saw before the first miss. The policy page is written from your settings, so the rule you apply and the rule they read are the same.
- Is anything sent or stored?
- No. Students and families stay in this tab, notes are copied for you to send yourself, and printing goes straight from your browser to your printer. Remember keeps your term, rule, students and slots only in this browser, and you can untick it to forget them.
- Is this legal advice?
- No. It applies the rule you set to the lessons you mark. What you agreed with families, and any consumer rules where you are, come first. Guidance, not legal advice.
