Pet vaccine check
See which pets are clear for today's visit or the whole stay, and whose shots run out soon.
Help and background Back to the tool
How it works
- 1 Pick the visit: just the day, or a stay with the day they go home. Then tick the vaccines your shop asks for. Rabies is always on.
- 2 Add each pet and put in the “good until” date for each shot, from the vet’s certificate. Each pet gets a tag with a timeline: green is good, amber runs out soon, red doesn’t cover the visit.
- 3 Print the desk list for check-in, copy a reminder for each family whose shots run out soon, and copy your vaccine rules for the booking page.
Free, with no account. Pet names, family names and dates stay on this page: nothing is sent anywhere, and they are kept on this device only if you tick Remember.
Good to know
- Does Ontario require a rabies shot?
- Yes. Ontario says cats, dogs and ferrets need a rabies vaccination once they are 3 months old, a booster within a year of the first, and then boosters every 1 to 3 years, depending on the vaccine. That includes pets that stay indoors. See Ontario: rabies in pets.
- What about the other vaccines?
- They’re your shop’s rule, not the law. Many groomers, daycares and boarding kennels ask for a few more, such as distemper combinations or kennel cough for dogs. Ask your vet which make sense for the pets you see, then tick those in step 2.
- Why “good until” and not the date it was given?
- Because a shot can last one year or three, and only the certificate says which. If all you have is the date it was given, the tool can add a year or three for you, but the certificate’s own date wins.
- What does “runs out mid-stay” mean?
- The shot is good on the day the pet checks in, but not on the day it goes home. For a stay, every shot has to cover every day.
- Why does “certificate seen” matter?
- Dates typed in from a phone call are a promise. Until you’ve seen the certificate, a pet that would be clear shows as “check first”.
- Is anything sent or stored?
- No. Pets and families stay in this tab, reminders are copied for you to send yourself, and printing goes straight from your browser to your printer. Remember keeps your rules and pets only in this browser, and you can untick it to forget them.
- Is this veterinary advice?
- No. It reads the dates you put in. It can’t tell whether a certificate is real or a pet is healthy. Guidance, not veterinary or legal advice.
