Receiving check

Check each delivery at the door: probe the cold and frozen lines, tick what's wrong, and take or refuse each one. The credit to ask for writes itself, prices that crept up are flagged against your price book, and every supplier gets a scorecard.

How it works

  1. 1 When the truck comes, put down who it's from, the invoice and your initials. For a supplier you've had before, start from their last delivery and the lines are already there.
  2. 2 Probe the chilled, hot and frozen lines and type the number. The page says at once whether each made its line.
  3. 3 Tick anything wrong, like torn packaging, a date gone by or a case that thawed, and say how many you kept. Refuse it in one tap.
  4. 4 What's refused or short adds up to the credit to ask for, with a request ready to copy into an email or write on the invoice. A price that went up since last time shows on its line.
  5. 5 Save it, and it joins the deliveries and each supplier's scorecard. Print one for the binder, or a blank sheet to fill in by hand.

Free. Signed out, it works on this page, and you can turn on Remember to keep it on this device. Try the made-up example to see a meat delivery with warm chicken and a short case; it's never kept. Signed in, the prices go into your price book in one click.

Good to know

Where do the lines come from?
From Ontario's food premises regulation, O. Reg. 493/17: food that can spoil is kept at 4 °C or colder, or at 60 °C or hotter (s.27), and frozen food stays frozen (s.28). Food comes from a source that's inspected, with the records of what you bought kept on the premises for at least a year (s.29). Meat comes from an inspected plant (s.38), milk is pasteurized (s.39), and eggs are graded, not Grade C, clean and uncracked (s.47). What to refuse past those lines, like a dented can or a bruised case, is your call (verify with your own health unit, and outside Ontario with your province's rules).
How is the credit worked out?
Each pack refused or short, times the price a pack on the invoice. A line with no price shows as one to confirm, and the request says so. It's what to ask for; what the supplier agrees to is between you and them. LocoTap never sends the request: you copy it, and send it yourself.
How does it know a price went up?
It sets the price a kilogram, litre or each against the last time the same item came in, from any supplier, or the last price in your price book, whichever is newer. A change of 5% or more is flagged, up in red and down in green, so a price that crept up shows at the door and not at month end.
What does the scorecard count?
Across the deliveries here: how often each supplier came clean, with nothing wrong and nothing short, the probes that missed their line, what was refused or short and the credit it came to, and the prices that went up. It only counts what you saved, so it's as fair as the checks behind it. Anything thrown out later can go in the waste log.
Where are the deliveries kept?
Signed in, your deliveries are kept in your LocoTap account, for you alone, never in a link or our logs, and you can download them with the rest of your account. Signed out, nothing is sent: it stays on this page, or on this device if you turn on Remember.
