A job from the first call to the tax after it, and the tools for each step

Every tool here opens in your browser. The ones marked Account keep a book for you, and the ones marked AI draft something for you to read over.

    Pricing the job

Know the rate that pays you, price the jobs you do again and again from one book, measure it up or price a home's cleaning by the room, hand the customer a written estimate with the rebates they may get, and have them sign the contract.

  2. 2 of 7

    On the job

Clock the hours on each job, keep each van stocked, know each home's equipment and the way in, leave a warranty on what you put in, sell a yearly plan of spring and fall visits, ticket what's dropped off, keep the cleaning rounds, log every visit to an icy lot, and pay the crew.

  3. 3 of 7

    Getting paid

Bill the estimate's lines, give a receipt with the tax right, and know what a card tap costs you.

  4. 4 of 7

    Tax and the books

When you have to register for sales tax, what to put aside, and the next 13 weeks.

  5. 5 of 7

    Hiring a crew

A job post that follows the rules, public holiday pay worked out, and the posters the law asks for.

  6. 6 of 7

    Winning the next job

Answer every review, hand out a card, show the licences and insurance a homeowner can check, and send the same clear message every time.

  7. 7 of 7

    Putting it in writing

Deposits and cancellations, returns on parts and work, and how you keep customers' details.

Type it once. The next tool picks it up.

A tool’s result can go on to the next one, so the rate that pays you prices the estimate’s labour, and the estimate’s lines become the invoice. It only moves when you press it, and never through a link.

Keeps a book

Needs an account, because what it keeps is a job: the change order slip keeps each change, signed, on the job it changes, and the hours log keeps the hours worked on it for the invoice. Each shows a made-up job until you sign in.

Drafts with AI

Describe the job in your own words and our AI provider drafts the estimate's lines, what and how much, for you to check. Your prices come from your own rate and past estimates; the AI never sees a price or a customer.

Estimate & quote builder works in full without an account; signing in adds the AI draft.

The rules behind the tools

What each rule usually asks of you, in plain words. The details differ from one country, state or city to the next and they change, so check the rule where you work. Guidance, not legal or tax advice: for a dispute, an unpaid bill or a big tax decision, talk to a lawyer or an accountant.

What an estimate holds you to

Many places limit how far the final bill can go past a written estimate unless the customer agrees to the extra, and want a bigger job on paper before it starts. The change order is how the customer agrees to the extra, in writing.

Check the rule where you work.

Signed at the customer's home

A job sold at the customer's door often gives them a few days to change their mind, and the contract has to tell them so. A repair they called you out for is often left out.

Check the rule where you work.

Interest on a late bill

Put the rate on the invoice before the work, so it's agreed, and give it as a yearly rate. What you can charge without one depends on the place and on whether the customer is a business.

Check the rule where you work.

Paying for construction work

Some places set by law how fast a construction invoice has to be paid and what it has to show, and many leave homeowners out of it.

Check the rule where you work.

Posting a job

More places now ask a job post to say what it pays, and some ask whether the job is open now and whether AI screens applicants. Trial shifts are work, and work is paid.

Questions owners ask

Are these tools free for contractors and trades?

Yes, all of them. Most work in full in your browser before you sign up, with nothing to install. Sign up free, with your email and a six-digit code, when you want to keep what you made. The tools that keep a job's book, like the hours log and the change order slip, need it from the start.

Do the tools work together?

Some already do. The hourly rate finder's rate fills in the estimate's labour. Signed in, an estimate is kept as a job, and billing it puts its lines on the invoice, priced as quoted, with the customer from your customers; signed out, a remembered estimate's lines go onto the invoice the same way. A hand-off only moves when you press it, and each tool's page shows where its work comes from and where it goes.

Where do my customers and prices go?

Not into a link, a log or an AI prompt. Signed in, the estimate and the invoice can keep a customer and the places you work in your account, for you only, when you press to keep them; signed out, the customer stays on the page. A receipt or a card fee report is drawn as a PDF on our server and not stored. Remember, where a tool has it, keeps your setup on this device only, and it's off until you turn it on.

Is this legal or tax advice?

No. The tools explain what a rule usually asks in plain words, and the details differ by place, so check the rule where you work. For a contract dispute, an unpaid bill or a tax question that matters, talk to a lawyer, an accountant or your tax office.

Does it work for cleaners, snow crews and repair shops?

Yes. The workbench has a pack for each: plumbing, HVAC, electrical and reno, auto repair, repair shops and tailors, cleaners, snow and landscaping, and photographers, each with its own tools first, like the cleaning schedule for a cleaner and snow pricing and the salt log for a snow crew.

Can I print the estimate and the invoice?

Yes. Estimates, change forms, invoices, receipts, tickets and logs are laid out to print, or to save as a PDF.
