Licence and clearance card

Your licences, the crew's certificates, the workers' comp clearance and the insurance, each with its number, the day it ends and the public register a homeowner checks it on. See what's valid today and what to renew, print a page and wallet cards that say "check us yourself", and put your licence numbers on every estimate.

How it works

  1. 1 Pick the kind of work you do, and see the papers homeowners often ask to see for it.
  2. 2 Add each licence, certificate, clearance and policy: who holds it, its number, who gave it, and the days it runs.
  3. 3 Say where each can be checked: a public register, or a web address you give. The card shows what's valid today and what runs out soon.
  4. 4 Print a page to leave with a customer, or wallet cards to cut out, each with a code to scan. Add the renewals to your calendar.

Free, with no account: the card is drawn in your browser. Remember is off unless you turn it on, and then keeps it on this device. Signed in, it's kept in your account, so Today can say when a paper runs out and the estimate builder can put your licence numbers under your name. The made-up example is never kept.

Good to know

Why point to a register instead of just the number?
Anyone can print a number. A homeowner who looks you up on the body's own register sees it's real and still good today, and that's worth more than any badge. The card says "check us yourself" and gives them the place to do it.
Which papers do I need?
It depends on the work and where you do it. The list for each kind of work is what homeowners often ask to see, not what the law needs: check with the body that licenses your trade and your town.
What about the workers' comp clearance?
A clearance certificate usually runs a short time, often up to 90 days, so it's the paper that runs out first. Put in the newest one's days and the card says when to get the next. Check yours for its own days.
Is a paper that's ended still shown?
No. The card and the printouts show only what's valid on the day they're printed, and say that day. A paper you'd rather not show, like a police check, can stay on your list but off the card.

Where it fits in a trade

Winning the next job Answer every review, hand out a card, show the licences and insurance a homeowner can check, and send the same clear message every time.

The whole job, mapped

A hand-off only moves when you press it, and never through a link: signed in, the next tool reads your account's book; signed out, it waits in this browser until the next tool picks it up.
