Billable hours log
Start the clock when you get there, or type the hours after. Each job's hours against the quote, and the ones not billed go straight onto the invoice.

How it works
- 1 Pick the job. The labour its estimate priced by the hour, and the labour hours in each change the customer signed, are the quote the hours are held against.
- 2 Start a clock when you get there and stop it when you leave, for you or anyone on the crew. Forgot to stop it? Put in when the work really stopped.
- 3 Or put the hours in after: "8", "7.5" or the times, "7:30-4", with a break if there was one.
- 4 The panel says how much of the quote is used and flags it before it runs out. Bill the hours and the invoice opens on the job with a line for each person, at the quoted rate.
Signed in, the hours are kept on their job in your account, for you only: never in a link, a log or an AI prompt, and they're in your export. Signed out, the page shows a made-up job that's never kept.
Good to know
- What does "billed" mean here?
- Hours are billed while a line on the job's invoice bills them. They're locked so the invoice and the hours always agree. Take the line off the invoice and the hours are free to change, or to bill again.
- I quoted a fixed price. Why log hours?
- To know whether the price was right. The panel holds the hours against the labour you priced, so you see a job eating its margin while there's still time to talk about it, and the next estimate is better for it. You don't have to bill them: leave them unbilled and they're only a record.
- The hours are running past the quote. Now what?
- If the job changed, write a change order and have the customer sign it before the extra work, then the extra hours are part of the quote. If it's the same job taking longer, the hours past a fixed price are usually yours. On a consumer job with an estimate, many provinces limit how far the final bill can go past it without the customer's agreement (verify for your province).
- Does this pay the crew?
- The timesheet does. Signed in, it can fill a pay period from the hours on every job, by who worked them, so you put them in once. Pay, overtime and deductions are worked out there and in your payroll.
- Is this tax or legal advice?
- No. It adds up the hours you put in. Check anything you're unsure of with your accountant or your province.
Where it fits in a trade
On the job Clock the hours on each job, keep each van stocked, know each home's equipment and the way in, leave a warranty on what you put in, sell a yearly plan of spring and fall visits, ticket what's dropped off, keep the cleaning rounds, log every visit to an icy lot, and pay the crew.
A hand-off only moves when you press it, and never through a link: signed in, the next tool reads your account's book; signed out, it waits in this browser until the next tool picks it up.

More for this part of the day
Van stock list
What each van should carry and what's on it. See what a van is out of, pick the restock list off the shop shelf, send the supplier an order and print a label for every bin, and take the parts off as each job is marked done.
Save it: your vans, with Today saying when one is out of something
Home profile
Keep what's in each home you work on: the furnace and water heater with their model, serial, filter and dates, where the shut-offs are, and how to get in. Filters and services come up on Today when they're due, and the equipment prints as service tags.
Save it: each home's equipment and the way in, on its place
Equipment warranty certificate
Leave a warranty certificate with the furnace, water heater or air conditioner you put in: make, model and serial, the maker's years and the longer ones once it's registered, your warranty on the work and the care that keeps it. Each piece goes on the home profile, and the day to register it on Today.
Save it: each job's certificate, its equipment on the home
Maintenance plan
Sell a yearly plan for the furnace, air conditioner and water heater: spring and fall visits, the price in payments and the perks. They sign on your phone, each visit's checklist moves the home's service dates, and Today says when a visit is due and a payment's to bill.
Save it: each home's plan, signed, with its visits
Alterations ticket
Pin each job on a drawing of the garment, price it, and print the claim stub and a tag for every piece. Then see the whole rack by pickup day.
Save it: every ticket on the rack, with a text when it's ready
Recurring cleaning schedule
Weekly, every-other-week and monthly homes, with extras that come round every few cleans. Even out your days, print day sheets, and send each client their dates.
Save it: your homes and their rotation
