Combo & set menu pricer
Build a combo or a set menu from its parts and the choices in each, and see what every plate really costs and keeps you, which pick is the one to watch, and what the guest saves against buying it all on its own. Find the price that hits your food cost, see whether the combo pays if it changes what people order, set fair extras for the dearer picks, and print a menu card for the counter.
Help and background Back to the tool
How it works
- 1 Name the combo and put in its price, or leave the price blank and let it suggest one for your food-cost target.
- 2 Add its parts, like a main, a side and a drink, and the choices in each with what they sell for on their own and what they cost you.
- 3 Say roughly how many guests pick each choice, and any extra you charge for the dearer ones.
- 4 See every plate it can make: what it costs, what it keeps you and what the guest saves, with the one to watch picked out.
- 5 Check whether it pays if it changes what people order, try other prices and extras, print a menu card or a costing sheet, and keep a combo book.
Free, with no account. Everything is worked out on this page: your prices, costs and combo book are never sent to us or put in a link. Remember keeps them on this device, and only while it's on.
Good to know
- Why look at every plate, not just the average?
- A combo with two mains, three sides and two drinks can go out twelve different ways, and they don't all cost the same. The average can look fine while the dearest plate keeps you much less. Seeing each one shows which choice to put an extra on, or swap out.
- Does the combo pay if it changes what people order?
- Some guests would have bought just the main, and the combo gets them to add a side and a drink. They leave you more. Others would have bought every part on its own anyway, and the combo gives them a discount. They leave you less. It shows how many of every ten need to be the first kind for the combo to come out ahead.
- Where do the picks come from?
- Your own sales are best: count what went out with the combo over a week or two. Until then, a fair guess is fine, and choices left blank share what's left. Check them against your sales now and then.
- What does it leave out?
- What you keep is before wages, rent and card fees, and tax is only taken off if it's in your prices. Sales tax on food and drink depends on what's sold, so check yours. Guidance, not financial or tax advice.
